Gran Canaria pictures title image

These are a few images from some recent 'sneaky' dives during a trip to Gran Canaria.  Conditions were not ideal, with a surface swell causing quite a bit of surge on the bottom and kicking some sand and muck into the water column.  I broke out the old C5050 for this trip and found it still gives some quite good results.

urchin
A close up of an urchin - had to get this for the electric blues.

arrow crab
An arrow crab, apparently feeding on and around the urchins under an overhang.
Red mullet
Red mullet resting on the rocks.
sea horse
A sea horse - a lucky shot this because it was flapping around in the swell!
sponges, urchins and arrow crab
Loved the colour of the sponges.  Another arrow crab feeding on or about the urchins.
the thing
I have no idea what this is!  I'm guessing at some sort of communal organism.
